This is a product that was introduced by my friend, it is pure investment on unit trust partner with mercer. Should I just learn to invest on myself or just leave it to the company?

I took a quick look at it.

Short Answer:
Looks very much like an ILP, repackaged and complexified. People always say "Stay away from ILP."

Even DCA in sti etf can net you better returns!

Take a look at the charges, this will tell is the product worth.
If your friend is pushing to hard, it means the comm is good. If he is just sharing, most probably the comm is not very good or it is just not worth the agent time

Still showing 4% and 8% ? Wow...

8% non-guaranteed, break even at 10th year
4% non-guaranteed, break even at 13th year

Lets look at the par fund performance from the insurers:

But for this product I been told is 100% will go into investment and there is no insurance in it

Was also quoted this product a few days ago. No insurance portion. Just invest in the funds recommended by mercer. After 12 years, for each dollar you put in after that they give you $1.05 worth of units. There's also no bid and offer spread for the funds.

The annual management fee for such funds is somewhere around 2% per year. As your portfolio increases in value, AIA's cut of the fee gets bigger and bigger. How else do you think they can give you extra 5% worth?
