Hey guys! I am planning on building a gaming rig with a budget of $1100. I have decided on some of the parts alr and I was hoping to get some advice :)

This rig would be used for gaming like dota2, COD, bioshock and other steam games etc.

CPU: i5-3570
+
Mobo: Asrock B75 DGS * * * * * * *$307
RAM: Gskills ripjaws 1600mhz 8gb * $110
HDD: Seagate 2GB 7200rpm * *$114
GPU: Palit GTX 760 2gb*
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *+
PSU: FSP 550w Raider 80+ * * *$399
ODD: Samsung 24x DVDRW * * $21
OS: Windows 8 64bit * * * * * *~$140
Case: TBD. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *~$80

Total: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ~$1171

Apparently I'm having some trouble keeping it below the budget lol. Any advice on how I can configure the rig to fit the budget? Planning to buy from tradepac also so hopefully can get decent discounts!

Thanks in advance for any advice that I can get!! :)
Cheers!

Get the 3350p instead to help you reduce and stay within budget. Equivalent to the i5-3470. Just no integrated gracphics. Since you already have a gpu.

My recommendations

If HDD space is a concern.
Asrock B75M DGS + i5-3350p ~ $271
Crucial 8gb 1600mhz value ram ~ $89
WD Blue 1tb x2 ~ $154
Zotac GTX760 2gb + Superflower HX500 500w 80+ Gold PSU ~ $399
Sharkoon MS120 ~ $52
Samsung ODD ~ $21
Windows 8 OEM ~ $120

Total ~ $1106

Another advisable rig is

If HDD space is not a concern then
Asrock B75m DGS + i5-3350p ~ $271
Crucial 8gb 1600mhz value ram ~ $89
WD Blue 1tb ~ $77
Plextor m5s 128gb ~ $135
Powercolor 7950 3gb ~ $318
CM311 + FSP Hexa 500w ~ $105
Samsung ODD ~ $21
Windows 8 OEM ~ $120

Total ~ $1136

Both buy at tradepac. DIY.

Thanks for the replies :)
Is the Zotac GTX 760 a better choice compared to the Palit one?? The prices seem similar, just that the PSU offered as a bundle is different. Also, are the crucial value rams reliable? I think o read some bad reviews on them before somewhere...

Zotac is offering a 5 years warranty by tech dynamic. It is much worth it in terms of warranty. Unlike palit 2 years only.

The PSU is a much reliable PSU with gold efficiency instead of the FSP Silver efficiency.

Currently a few of my friends are running on crucial rams. They are actually quite good to use. And so far only 1 came complaining that his ram spoil because he spill coffee onto the ram.
