If no need additional features on the H170, a MSI B150 Gaming M3 board will suffice. IIRC both B150 and H170 boards only support DDR4 up to 2133mhz. So if you buy a 2400 DDR4 ram, cannot utilise. Just get G Skill ripjaws 16gb 2133 DDR4 ram

To reduce cost, since you playing only on 1080p, Gtx 970 will be enough.

PSU go for superflower leadex. More value for money.

the cooler you want might not be available, yet. better to call the shop first to ask.

choose another PSU that's more value for money. For LED strip, can get Deepcool RGB LED Strip for $25~$30 at PCThemes

thanks for the help guys. got all the parts i listed in my original post from Best Bargain at a really good price. Paid 1.8k in total including OS. Some of the parts i chose to go with purely just for the looks. Did consider those parts you guys listed but in the end of the day had a little bit extra to spare so went for the nicer looking parts. Dont like that mesh part though but no choice. No Phantom 530 in stock.

$109. Only saw this at Best Bargain. Apparently my rig is the first to have this installed. Its a new cooler and stocks just came. The guy had some trouble installing it at first because of some mounting issues. Had to come back the next day to collect my PC but managed to install with no issues.

Nice!! Enjoy your rig!

Thanks bro i will!

Honestly i prefer the MSI Twin Frozr backplate. Way sexier IMO. But they didnt have the 390 in stock for MSI so i went with the Sapphire. Nt sure if all 390s have it but this particular sapphire nitro tri-x has it for both the 390 and 390x.
