Yes you can use forwarders, or get from local sellers (more expensive.)

I have a few days old kindle 5th gen. Itchy hand bought on mother's day promo and itchy hand go purchase a paperwhite 3g just now. Let me know if any bro keen to take over my set. If not I will return to amazon.

My recommendation is not to get a screen protector; it's just not necessary and affects readability. You should get a cover that surrounds the chassis though; the screen is pretty fragile if dropped.

dropped my s4 umpteen times.......omg, how fragile is the kindle?
how much protection can the original cover provide?
i didn't buy it cox thought that it was too expensive , near 1/3 of kindle price =(...
if buy other brand cover, the protection not as good as the original cover?

i bought through amazon，send to my friend's Vpost US address，cox some of us buy things from US online stores occasionally ....so can share the base charge to reduce shipping fees...
if you are gonna buy through amazon, can notice me?cox i might need to buy screen cover as well..

That's because if there's a problem, you'll be stuck. Amazon US Kindle support will not handle problems found in Japanese sets.

Good point. Can I ask what the recourse is in this instance?

I'm asking because I'm contemplating on buying the paperwhite 2013. I've got 2 options, namely:

1. buy from amazon.com @ USD119, ship to forwarder and ship to Singapore. All in, assuming it's not a huge box, it'll probably cost me ~SGD155 + 40 shipping = ~200 SGD

2. There's this reseller on a local website selling the japanese, i.e., 4gb, no ads version for SGD204 if i pick it up myself, + sgd7 if i want it delivered.

Sounds like a no- brainer here? Are there distinct differences between the japanese sets and us sets?

It's also weird that I can't find US sets on this resale website. very odd indeed.

Realistically there is no course for the Japanese set. But if you don't mind this, then go ahead. It's not really weird that there are no US sets on the site. The owner prefers to sell Japanese sets at a cheaper price.
