Bump for reply. Anyway is it wise to buy a processor for my old am3 mobo or shall I get a new maybe Intel mobo with i3 so tat I can upgrade de CPU only in the future? Anyway my budget now is around 4xx for gpu and either new mobo or am3 CPU.

Ps. I will be using for some gaming purpose, like fps or non online game.

AMD AM3 processors are EOL for some years already and no one in SLS sells AM3 processors anymore.

Suggestions:

1) Go to Amazon/ Ebay and get a used AM3 processor.

2) Install an aftermarket heatsink and OC your processor.( What processor/motherboard combo are you using anyway?)

3) Just buy the Powercolor R9 265 and wait until 2016-2017 (hopefully) for AMD's new architecture. The R9 265 is not that powerful anyway and bottlenecks should not be too obvious.(What games are you intending to play?)

4) If you want to go Intel, do not plan for future processor upgrades and just get the processor that you want in the future. Intel is known to change sockets more frequently than AMD and you may face the dead socket problem again if you want to upgrade the processor in the future as Intel sockets are not forwards or backwards compatible.
