Hi,

Building another rig @ home. Old one is close to 5 years old already.

Rig will be used for Lightroom + Photoshop (Main), light gaming, web surfing. No need monitor, KB, Mouse and HDD.

Been looking through and came up with the following specs:

CPU & Mobo: INTEL i5 4670 + ASROCK H87 PERFORMANCE $434
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS X 1600 MHZ CL9 2 x 4GB $122
GPU & PSU: MSI GTX 760 2GB GAMING + FSP AURIUM 550W 80+ PLATINIUM $550
SSD: PLEXTOR M5 PRO 128GB $169
HDD: Reusing 2x 1TB Western Digital Black
ODD: ASUS 24X DVD-RW SATA $27
CASE: ?
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64BIT $120

Total damages: 1422 (Exclude Casing) Price from PCThemes.

Kindly advise as to whether the rig is ok. Also, any recommendations for casing? Would like one with some front USB3.0 headers; card reader (SD/CF) is a bonus.

Thank you!

You can consider INTEL i5 4570 since the difference between i5 4570 and i5 4670 is quite minimal.

Swap the gpu to

Msi r9 280x 3gb twin frozr ~ $ 440
Superflower hx600 600w 80 + gold efficiency ~ $ 109

One tier higher gpu. Faster.

If you gonna open alot of photo to edit think it better for u to upgrade ram to 16gb. Ssd get Intel 530 240gb from Amazon (5yrs int warranty).

Casing wise fractal design midi arc 2 or cooler master 690iii will be good enough. Can checkout YouTube video review for these 2 case.

Case wise, fractal design is pretty cool!
