Advise on Maglev ticket

Hi All,

Planning to make a day trip from both Shanghai to Suzhuo and Hangzhuo (separate dates) and i understand that i can purchase the Maglev 高铁 tickets from Ctrip.

I'm looking at both March 20 (Suzhuo) and March 22 (Hangzhuo).

Can someone guide me on how can i purchase the tickets in advance? And do they accept international credit card? I also understand that, i need to present passport on the ticket collection. True?

I tried looking at Ctrip site and got little confuse by it. What is the differences between Shanghai, Shanghai South and Shanghai Hongqiao stations?

I will be staying at Hyatt on the Bund and base on Google's map, i need to take a metro from Yishan Station and transit at Shanghai Railway Station. Shanghai Railway Station is Shanghai, Shanghai South or Shanghai Hongqiao?

MagLev is only found from Shanghai Pudong airport to Longyang Road Station. 高铁 is not MagLev. What you need are High Speed.
Yes, you can buy on ctrip using your int'l credit card and collect the ticket using your passport at the station. Shanghai station is the one at 303, Moling Road in Zhabei District. I. Shanghai has 4 train stations. The station nearest to your hotel is Shanghai. You can also look at where you want to arrive in Suzhou. Suzhou is more central than Suzhou North, and Shanghai station does not have trains to Suzhou North.
Apparently the trains to Hangzhou are only available from Shanghai Hongqiao. Ctrip lists all the combinations. So long as the train numbers start with D or G, they are your high-speed trains. You can also confirm with the duration.

Thanks for the clarification. Been thinking that the Maglev is equivalent to HSR.

Hangzhou is nearer to the main attractions around West Lake. Whereas Hangzhou East has more connections with Hongqiao.

Cannot easily compare Nanjing with Hangzhou. Both are as worthwhile to visit.
