First time building a PC here, I've always heard that you should build your own PC to save money and Sim Lim is the best place for it in SG. However when starting my research I noticed the graphics card alone is already almost as expensive as a whole prebuilt?

Here are 2 shops in Sim Lim (Dynacore and Tradepac) that sell the ZOTAC RTX 3090Ti AMP Extreme Holo 24GB for over $2k:
https://dynacoretech.com/parts-and-...extreme-holoblack-24gb-gddr6x-3-2yrs-registerhttps://tradepac.com.sg/index.php?route=product/product&path=72_126&product_id=1936
Here's an example of an aftershock prebuilt that costs $2.3k currently including the same GPU:
https://www.aftershockpc.com/products/l8-amd-r5-5600x-3090tioc
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x Processor
AFTERSHOCK Glacier Mirror 240mm Watercooling
GIGABYTE B550M DS3H AC
ZOTAC RTX 3090Ti AMP Extreme Holo 24GB
16GB KLEVV CRAS X DDR 4 4000MHz (8X2)
1TB Lexar NM760 Gen4 NVMe SSD
1050W Deepcool 80+ Gold
AX Wireless + Bluetooth Included
NZXT H5 FLOW (Black)
Windows 11 Home 64 Bit *Unactivated*

This may be a stupid question but I'm new and genuinely confused, how is buying from Sim Lim cheaper?

The price is too good to believe. Must be built with used components. Advise you to stay away from aftershock.
There have been negative feedbacks about aftershock pc from members here.

I emailed them and they replied "they will all be new as we do not deal in used components!". If they are actually using used parts wouldn't that make that liable to legal issues and being sued? What's the catch? I'm not too experienced so I feel like I'm missing something sorry

You would want to move this topic to hardware clinic. I'm sure you get better infos on components used by aftershock
built at such price and feedback from members who had experience with aftershock build.

Pre-builders will buy in bulk so can be cheaper.... Some items like m.2 drives or motherboard are the less popular brands and models...their fans, case and even AIO also in-house rebadged brands. Also they often have promotions on their base models so can be worth it.

They also have to popular brands and models but if selected, the price can very high.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600x Processor this is AMD 5000 series and not their best 7000 series
AFTERSHOCK Glacier Mirror 240mm Watercooling this is their own housebrand
GIGABYTE B550M DS3H AC B650 will be better than B550
ZOTAC RTX 3090Ti AMP Extreme Holo 24GB zotac 3090TI comes with 24gb same as 4090?
16GB KLEVV CRAS X DDR 4 4000MHz (8X2) this RAM speed is slow and uncommon brand
1TB Lexar NM760 Gen4 NVMe SSD uncommon brand
1050W Deepcool 80+ Gold uncommon brand
AX Wireless + Bluetooth Included
NZXT H5 FLOW (Black)
Windows 11 Home 64 Bit *Unactivated* this is unlicensed version with no payment made under OEM

Thank me later! TIA!

It might not be cheaper, but with the same price you paying for prebuilts you can get better parts when offers comes around. Take the NVMe SSD card for exmple, I bought samsung 2 x 1TB 990pro and 980 for $300 in Nov. I also bought trident z5 ddr5-6400CL32 rgb 16gb x2 RAM at amazon for $300.

so its more on same price better products.

Cause maybe i don buy all parts from same the place.

prebuilt or SLS PC, all almost the same price.....maybe diff by $80-$100?

Only those with strong sourcing for PC parts DIY users can built a PC much cheaper then.

If you all like searching for 'the best' gaming PC parts, then can look at this video.

This also tells you the difference the best PC & average one differs. Even between a real gamer & a Casual.

{Not that I want to promote Linus vids, (never wanted to either), but Anthony kinds of pull out the truth..}

[ all these gaming PC questions also seems like some "flexing" show here in Hwz...]
