What happens if an agent leave the industry and the plan gets assigned to a random agent?

Does the new servicing agent have any perks taking over the plan (ie; have any remaining commission channelled to them)?

I have some plans which agent left and plans assigned to a new agent. I have never heard from them since they took over.

nothing happens if you have not been relying on that agent for anything and don't have to rely on that agent on anything. The default is always to go back to the insurer so it is not an issue.

Do you need them to do anything for you?

Do you need them to do anything that the previous agent has been doing for you?

Most of the time, I self service directly from insurer. But certain forms are only accessible from agent platform and require agent to do filing (eg. Financial needs analysis form when increasing RSP)

If this new agent appointed by the insurer is not willing to assist, then go to the insurer and inform them. they will know what to do. so don't need to worry.

From my tokio marine agent there is no perks but they have to take over as mandated by employer. So what some agents try to do is take over and then same time try their luck to sell new plan to this customer since now got the contact info.

I have a friend who used to be a AIA agent. She told me that yearly renewal the agent will get commission so when you renew your policy thru annual premium the new agent will get I suppose.
