Air cooled i5-6500 idle temp 25ºC possible?

I upgraded to the above intel core processor in dec last year. Been reading alot of reviews on the load and idle temps. Many have indicated that their idle temps are 25ºC and load about 45ºC.

I am using an M-itx case, with Noctua air cooler with artic Mx-4 thermal paste. Idle about 37ºC and load about 42ºC.

Any idea how other users are achieving this kinda of low temps at idle using fan cooling only? What setting should i use in bios? My fan speeds are at 50% currently.

Ambient temperature

Processor temp cannot be lower than ambient mah since the ambient air is cooling it down. Even with watercooling, 25 degree is impossible because ambient in sg is simply too high

lol i on air con plus custom wc also never get that temp.

never compare overseas temp to local temp.

our normal room temp alr 25-28,
how can the cpu be lower, somemore using air cooled

I expected ambient temp, cos our weather already like 29-32 degrees type. But some of these reviews i read is from Malaysia, one of them did the review in summer (australia), so kinda of inconsistent.

Their summer and our summer also different leh... Dun stereotype summer = 25 degC throughout the whole world, winter = 0 degC throughout the world.

Besides, getting a 30-35 degC in SG is quite normal le. My WC only give 31-33 degC idle nia...

Ya, i thought their i5-6500 is special cold version, does not generate any heat. Anyways, thanks. Just want to make sure.

Use peltier chip as heatsink lo. But will have condensation.

i do feel that haswell idle temps (higher) more "realistic" than skylake idle temps (much lower). izit due haswell's FIVR on-die?

so 37c at idle for skylake feels high...
