i think i read from somewhere when internet is enable when installing the drivers will ask you whether to download some extra stuff , so far i see this ai thing is to detect if you have downloaded ai apps

If you open adrenaline and manage updates, you'll see 2 new items. Namely AI bundle and AMD software extensions, which by default are not installed. The release notes did not mention anything about AMD software extensions...

Only after expanding AMD software extensions via "->", "AMD privacy view" is listed, another garbage but now hidden under another layer as it was previously shown. Trick people to click on "accidentally" install ? lol.

Also they added an option to send or not send data in the manage updates panel... If it's not clicked on either button, by default, it's sending your data since it will remain there until you actually click on do not send button? lol.

I really don't see any AMD software extensions , i only see the AI , anyway which series you running on?

I think you can try my method , disable internet in windows, plug out the ethernet cable or if you are build in wifi disable it , use amdcleanup or ddu or both also can up to you , if you use amdcleanup it will prompt you to reboot to safe mode but make sure you remember your windows log in password that time on win 11 pin dont work only password now is fixed already

in safe mode let amdcleanup do its job then you want to use ddu together also can but i think amdcleanup should be sufficient enough

then reboot back normal windows mode should be no internet at all because you already disable it before you go safe mode , then just install the drivers if it wants to reboot then reboot if no need everything done just enable back the internet , i think the problem there is when internet is enable the driver ask to install extra stuff lol

Just a PSA that if you are on 26.3.1, avoid directly updating to 26.5.1 or 26.5.2. Users reported that directly updating from 26.3.1 caused issues with the zero rpm mode. Zero RPM wouldn't deactivate even when the GPU was under high load, leading to it overheating quickly.

Instead, uninstall the older driver using DDU or the AMD driver removal tool first then install the new one.

Yeah, something seriously wrong with AMD install manager. I had a corrupted "update" before, causing numerous driver timeouts doing simple things like watching youtube videos. Luckily I'm tech savvy, so resolved the issue in a few minutes.
