Sounds like it but don't know if HardOCP is just biased towards Nvidia or what.

http://hardocp.com/article/2016/05/27/from_ati_to_amd_back_journey_in_futility#.V0hj7fl971s

Quote: "AMD has a reputation of holding GPU launches in exotic locations when trying to obscure a deficient product that doesn’t cut the mustard ( Anyone remember Tunis? )"

Quote: "What HardOCP knows from sources inside and outside the company, AMD has a problem on its hands, as both these products have come up significantly short of where these were supposed to land. But that is OK for AMD, it will simply send Chris Hook out to fall on the sword and tell a story of that was the plan all along....to produce brand new parts much slower than its last high end GPUs. In the simplest terms AMD has created a product that runs hotter and slower than its competition's new architecture by a potentially significant margin. Let the internal finger-pointing begin! The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 launch was a surprise to AMD and it simply does not have a harpoon for Moby Dick this time...again."

Well can be true actually. ATI after going into AMD went to hell. They got nothing out of the deal. Not surprising got some internal BS.

AMD has been deep in sh*t since a long time back. Intel and Nvidia just keeping them barely alive so as to avoid market monopolisation charges.

It would be very interesting to see Intel acquire Radeon and compete against Nvidia though.

I actually wanted Intel to buy out ATI. Ended up AMD went all in.

HardOCP is actually very salty towards AMD. Don't believe, can go look up what **** the editor-in-chief talk about AMD.

Also, the editor is circulating salty remarks on his own website that AMD wouldn't invite HardOCP to their Macau editors' day event, while the more independent reviewers got their invite they deserved.

Judge by yourself to go with AMD or Nvidia. Don't need to give them the ad revenue their click bait titles are looking for.

I dont think the Polaris and Vega will fail this time, the biggest problem right now is the delayed time they are released, and no exact date as well...

P10 has rumored to be faster than both R9 390X and 980. For a chip of 232mm sq, that is very impressive. And if the core count is 2048 instead of the non-confirmation 2560 we have a winner. For once the cores of red camp could match the same IPC as green, aka maxwell 2.0 or pascal.

Vega could be something twice as big with HBM and 4096 cores or more. With that IPC as mentioned above, Imagine a maxwell cores of 4096 core that comes with higher clock speed.

I dont think they will fail, but if they delay then they will still disappoint

I hope amd comes back huge, everyone loves an underdog story.

More competition, lower prices and more importantly, the need to drive technology to compete.

Intel has been rather stagnant, my i7 2600 is still kicking butt. No real performance increase from current gen.

Personally, I feel its a trade off. Nvidia seems to have left out some features on their mainstream cards to keep cost and power down.

If AMD is able to keep the price competitive for their Polaris cards, I think they will do fine.
