sorry to bring up an old thread; the noobish me just realized i'm still sitting on the AMD Catalyst control center:s13:

I headed over to the below url:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download?ipromo=RSCE-download

And tried the auto detect and install option - it just keeps telling me my driver is up to date ?:s22:

I presume this means I should do a clean install of Crimson from scratch ? If so - could someone please review if the steps below are correct ?

1. Download DDU
2. Uninstall AMD CCC from Control Panel
3. Run DDU and then when prompted, reboot into safe mode
4. Run DDU again
5. Reboot again, this time into normal mode
6. Install the latest Crimson driver 16.3.1 - is this correct ver ?http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD_Radeon_Software_Crimson_Edition_16.3.1.aspx

Just want to ensure I get this right, to avoid any complications when it comes to GPU drivers. Thanks in advance :)

thanks for your advice; have to say the entire process was smoother than i expected; like what u suggested - simply uninstalled cc and install crimson, and it works haha .. only minor glitch was freesync showing up as not supported on my benq xl2730z , turns out i need to disable the blur reduction

just uninstall ccc and reinstall crimson. U could do the long way of DDU but dont need

Thats the safest and cleanest way possible (besides reformatting of course!). Always good to follow. But usually uninstalling using the AMD uninstaller tool and installing Crimson works without any problems for most people.

just glad i didn't run into any complications :D

on a sidenote - fps is seeing some better numbers for rise of tomb raider at very high settings 1440p.. it now hovers better in the 30-40 range for most outdoor environment compared to low 30s and dropping to 28-29 every now and then , or is this just my eyes playing tricks on me? haha
