So far my default EXPO setting by the RAM is working fine... only setting I do is to change something that will make it more responsive... but too long never touch also forget simi RAM setting already.

That setting got something to do with the FCLK = UCLK or something
The voltage stepping? Yes also changed that. Have to change one variable at a time and let the host soak overnight. What I am trying to say is that AMD systems have their quirks because it is so highly tunable. But for most users it wouldn't matter and it shouldn't. That's why I like corporate PCs if you are venturing into homelab territory..

If want to buy PC for office work Intel or AMD?
Gaming AMD or Intel processor?

Office work just get a reliable workhorse brand unless you intend to self assemble.

Gaming absolute fastest should be AMD 9800X3D, 9950X3D or 9950X3D2. At other price points, Intel might be faster than AMD counterpart. Need to do your homework.

Due to its long market share dominance, Intel has tied up with several key retailers and system integrators e.g. Dell, HP, IBM etc, through a series of rewards and incentives systems.

Hence, these retailers and system integrators are more likely to supply offices with Intel CPU workstations.

I remembered Intel ever kena investigated by US FTC for "monopolistic practices" to shut out other CPU competitors from the marketplace.

AI Overview

The setting you are remembering to maximize system responsiveness is UCLK = MCLK (1:1 Ratio). [1, 2]
On modern AMD AM5 platforms (DDR5), your RAM performance relies on three separate clock speeds: [1]
    • MCLK (Memory Clock): The actual clock speed of your physical RAM. For example, if you use EXPO to run your RAM at 6000MT/s, your physical MCLK is 3000 MHz. [1, 2, 3]
    • UCLK (Memory Controller Clock): The speed of the processor's internal memory controller. [1]
    • FCLK (Infinity Fabric Clock): The interconnect speed inside the AMD CPU. On AM5, this defaults to 2000 MHz and runs asynchronously from the memory. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The Key Responsiveness Setting
To get the tightest latency and best snappy performance (especially in gaming), you want the Memory Controller to run at the exact same speed as your RAM clock (UCLK = MCLK). This is often called Gear 1 mode. [1, 2, 3]
If this setting isn't locked down, some motherboards will automatically drop into a 2:1 ratio (UCLK = MCLK / 2, or Gear 2). When this happens, your memory controller runs at half speed, causing a massive latency penalty that makes the system less responsive despite having high memory speeds. [1, 2, 3, 4]

How to apply it in your BIOS:
    • Boot into your BIOS (usually by tapping Del or F2 when turning on your PC).
    • Navigate to your Overclocking or Memory tab (e.g., Ai Tweaker, OC Tweaker, or Extreme Tweaker depending on your motherboard).
    • Ensure your AMD EXPO profile is switched on.
    • Look for a setting named UCLK DIV1 MODE or Memory Controller Frequency.
    • Change it from Auto to UCLK=MCLK (or 1:1).
    • Leave FCLK Frequency on Auto (it typically locks itself safely to 2000 MHz, which is optimal).
    • Save and exit (F10). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

From company point of view, for office work, better use Intel.
You can see why most of company pc provide intel options more than AMD, not say cannot.
I tried to get Thinkpad P series AMD with 32GB ram for my colleague to test, she said its slower if not the same as her 3 years older Intel laptop with 16gb :s22:
Of course one person test cannot conclude, but I do not dare to propose company to get AMD for all users :ROFLMAO:

If i'm not wrong, intel cpu are better in single core tasks and amd cpu are better in multi cores tasks.
