Any good recommendation for SSD?

730 using Intel's own enterprise SSD controller, 530 using ubiquitous sandforce, which is notorious for being bad with incompressible workloads and buggy firmware.

Sandforce in intel 520 onwards is solid already.. my 520 bought 4yrs ago is still running good on my lappy.

For around 500gb sizes better buy from Amazon and get those with free shipping. I think Intel 730 480gb prices went down till $199 USD for some time.

sata only has 6gbit/s transfer..which i guess is ard 600++mb

intel 730 is said to have transfer of 550mb..so even is samsung 850 is faster most to most it hit the max transfer of sata technology

Its not really about raw data transfer rate. Its also abt IOPs.

For home use though, IOPS don't really matter, unless you running a home database server.

Crucial MX100 is dirt cheap now. Hooted 1 while I was in US. Now running it in my son's PC. Dun read too much into number specs. You probably wont feel much difference in everyday use unless you are getting the higher end SSD and reading or writing huge files.
