Hello everyone!
Once again, I will like to thank all users who have helped me for my last thread
So to update, I've applied to SUSS and SIT, still no replies tho

Should if I'm unable to get a spot in either university, I presume my future lies in private universities. Now the thing is, I will like to consult some stuff on private universities.

1) What are some of the better computing/business related courses in local private universities? Are they all 3 year courses? Will I potentially lose out compared to a 4 years degree course?

2) Any chance of subsidies in private universities? I do know that they recieve less resources as compared to public universities, but is there anyway to reduce tution fees?

1) Definitely lose out when compared to local uni students. That much isn't debatable. You can, however, find ways to make up for that through performing well during internships, getting good grades, having good interview skills, etc.

2) you can apply for bursaries, etc if your family income not too high. Outside these options, there's no subsidy for private uni education. UOL is about 26k for 3 years, back during my time. I enrolled back in 2014.

All that being said, doesn't mean you enter private uni, you're doomed to do poorly in life. How you end up depends on what you do with your time there.

I personally know a few people who secured decent jobs even before graduation.

Source: I was from the UOL programme. Am currently on scholarship, pursuing my masters at one of the 3 local uni. I also got into almost every programme overseas that I applied to (just for fun cause wanted to test water and see whether stigma exist for private uni grad).

I no longer check here regularly since graduate liao. If you want to reach me, drop a pm.

Agreed. Local Unis are always the first choice. However don't lose heart in a Private Uni, as those who eventually does very well attract good prospects.

Thanks for advice. Replied to you. Hoping that I can actually enter an autonomous uni if possible. Any one here knows the average cut off rp for sit and suss courses actually? (so I can agar agar haha)
