Can advise how you go to Ratchaburi from BKK?
I know got train service, but machiam 2.5 to 2¾ hours? :s22:

Then I know got coach service also, at least 2 hours? do they stop for breaks?

Actually the specific town I want to go to is Ban Pong.
Any Ratchaburi expert can advise how to go??
Most likely I will fly into Don Mueang airport first.

i'm not sure about Ban Pang but i used to visit a thai friend's grandmother who stays slightly further from Ban Pong (near Look Kae) in rat'buri. we usually take the coach from the sai tai and it takes only 1.5hrs to reach. the tix price is ~70b but i can't remember the exact figure cos haven't been visiting her these 2 years.

anyway, a bus journey of less than 2hrs is consider short in thailand so there is no break in between.

would advise you to take taxi.. u can stop anytime u want. if u want to take coach, mk sure u can interact w them quite good in thai.. else forget about it...

once u r out from bkk.. to another province, not many thai can understand english.. even thou, is very simple english.... and our sg english too fast, they cannot understand...

yes to ratchaburi is about 2hrs... or lesser than that... i got my fren drove me there recently in aug

Ban Pang Never hear before, but if you are talking bout Ban Pong In ratchaburi.
Here it goes :

BKK (DOn Muang > Bang Pong)

1 : Go To Victory M (Anusawari)
There are minivan going to ban pong: Ticket less then 150 bhat and is faster.
But you have to tell them where in Ban Pong, can be Bang Pong Hospital or elsewhere.
Ask your tirak to write in thai then save in handphone, show to ticket seller there.

2: By Train

TAke from hualampong to Nahkon PAthom station raiway
At there take taxi to ban pong > is about 25-30 KM

Its quite drivable to Rat'ri. Not more than 1 and half hr away from Suvarnabhumi. A number of nice river markets to check out such as Damnern Saduak along the way.

straight forward drive?

cos i find bkk roads a bit hard to understand :s13: sometimes during different hours... the traffic lane will have against traffic :s22:

i drive in phuket and its easier...

If you like nature, there's Suan Phueng.

If you like river market, there's Amphawa and Damnoen Saduak (~1 hr drive away)

If you like history and more nature, go Kanchanaburi (~1 hr drive away)

If you like shopping or nightlife, stay in BKK or Phuket.
