MND and HDB have started building Community Care Apartments (CCA) to provide housing options that support seniors to age independently.

I expect long queues and expensive charges for those who do not have severe chronic issues and don't qualify for subsidies. The government will ask these people to get helpers and stay in their houses instead.

This may applies to everyone with or without children.

I believe less subsidies for those with high income adult children and have to go through means testing to qualify for subsidies.

Glad to see govt is working something on our aging population.

Long periods of WFH can be a bit depressing. I find hybrid WFH and back to the office are better for the mind and body.
100% agree with you. There are a lot of good eating places around my office within walking distance so I also look forward to lunchtime. When I WFH I'm usually too lazy to go out (and also tired because WFH day is also my gym/swim day), just prepare healthy home cooked meal. 😅

Not everyone finds their time very valuable. Also I dont think there is a proper definition of a fulfilled life. There is no definition.

My personal view is everyday we go to sleep, we are as good as dead. It is like we close all our trades and position is zero. Next day when we wake up(if we wake up), it is a new day and then since we have the day in front of us, we need to fill it somehow. Different people fill their days in different ways, some people dont have enough time, some people have crazy amount of time and the time just doesnt move.

But in the end, the day does get over and no matter how you spent it, it really doesnt matter. You go to sleep and you are dead again, whether you are Bill Gates or a monk or a criminal, everybody's day eventually ends.
So it really doesnt matter in the end. Sure it matters while we are living our day, how we live makes us happy or sad, but that is only because we lived the day. If we didnt live, it is just neutral. So we can say, some people who have very sad lives might say, we would rather not have lived this day at all. So you see time is not equally valuable and I would say in this world majority of the people are not lucky enough to have great days. Very very few are fortunate. But even that fortune only stays until the day ends.

Our whole life is just a combinations of 100s of such days. It is as simple as that, we just make it very complicated :)
Totally agree,.. most of us chasing among the herds, all our life have been planning & pursuing happily-ever-after good life..
If we ever take a moment of deep thought: What if "Tomorrow" never come? (Ever heard of ppl, young or old.. passing away in their sleep).
Not to be pessimistic, but while we are living,.. Live the moment & Cherish Today - Tomorrow is a Gift.

Our lives go by in a flash, some people don't even get to live to a ripe old age, my wife's childhood friend just died of cancer recently, she was only 41.

FIRE is nice but its sad if thats the ultimate goal in life, there's more to life than just financial freedom and more material possessions.
We just cant plan how long we want to live..
To be able to live to a ripe old age with your loved one.. Is a blessing itself.

Well it is all about dependent need to feed or not. If remove all of them and you only need to feed yourself fire by 40 is very achievable if your work pay you decently and you seldom splurge or need to feed car country club condo maintenance fees etc.
