I'm actually doing development for Home automation system using LUA. Would like to look for people in my field and to know roughly how much is LUA worth in the programming world.

I understand LUA has been used in the gaming industry. Since Apache 2.3, mod_lua is available to script the web engine as well as for web serving too. Using LuaJ, you can embed into the JVM as a scripting language for other purposes, so why not ?
