forgot to add, remember to check for HK public holiday too
and also immediately after CNY, can consider STI call as china market are closed

i usually buy 15 mins before close and sell within 15 mins after open
buy put if sti gain more than 2%, buy call if hsi drop more than 2%

Can I ask, how profitable you are doing on average per year and how long you have been using this current set up?
I'm just curious only.

im a newbie, played during 2008 for a few months only
started with $5k, usually buy 10 to 30 lots (previously 1 lot is 1000 shares)
i hit and run, average profit or lost is around $500 per day
the longer you hold, the lesser the value
initially was good, 1 month net around $2-3k profit
luck went out and i lost all profit plus capital, thus decide to stop
hopefully shifu here can advise and share some experience before i start again
cheers

these are basically options on futures, but named warrants for some reasons. Need to understand the mechanics behind why they lose or gain value and all that option geek. This warrant will likely gain more due to the rate of change aka IV, and i can only think of ppl buying HSI or STI warrants for hedging a portfolio, abit hard to speculate though.

I suggest u get a better understanding before playing it. As of today, volatility is dropping so i guess u are abit too late. and dont expect too much movement coming now to CNY, quiet market :)

1. high effective gearing
2. short-dated index warrants, or long-dated company underlying.
4. sell when hit profit of minimum 10%, or clear within same week

there's volatility everywhere, in fact, nikkei index warrants might look interesting

care to share whats digital options?

anyone getting nikkei cw?
NKY 16000MBeCW160311

If Nikkei 225 drop below 16000 you warrant become worthless paper. Expiry date is 11th March, less than a month for you to play. Too many things can happen.

Anyway this warrant Conversion Ratio is: 80 warrant(s) : 1 share(s)
So every 1000 point N225 goes up, your warrant goes up aro $0.0125.

For more info i reply here on the link below (why it's not a good time to buy call warrant). Anyway it's your money, you decide.
