I will never buy "cheap" highly processed food from unknown overseas sources, nor recommend it.
Usually, as it might come with add seasonings, preservatives, and texture/color enhancers to hide "somethings". Especially, those advertised as extra-QQ or tasty.

there is political incentive to keep the free shipping open
these importers in asean countries buy $1 flip to $3-5 .... they earn the lions share of profit while the china manufacturer only earn 10 to 50 cents
i think mainland china is pissed and therefore if they connect directly to consumers , the consumers $3 $5 budget will buy full $3 to $5 of china goods , instead of buying $1 of china goods ....
this will supercharge their exports growth and help to keep their factories alive , workers less retrenchment , less mainlanders thinking about protest and rebel ... the basis for every policy in china is keeping their people as far away as possible from rebel intention , subsidizing a few dozen warehouses and cargo ships is peanuts in the grand scheme of things

The issue with this is the amount of waste it creates.

Used to be able to buy big bulky stuff like washing machines, sofa, full bed that's included for free shipping with minimum RMB99 spending, but now they excluded all those already.
