Anyone tried gaming using projector??

I am curious, does it work? I am thinking of installoing a projector in my bedroom. Mainly for movies and gaming. Saw the benq w2700 and viewsonic px747. Does the bigger screen make a difference?

you happy to spend the money can liao. you hav budget go get uts laser projector it's jaw dropping even on concrete wall (china oem under 3k)

Alternatively why not get a wall mount TV 43 to 60 inches.

Depends on what kind of games you intend to play, are you more casual or hardcore? Reason being projectors generally have higher input lag which will impact your gaming experience. IIRC currently not many affordable 4K projector options available with super low input lag and ultra short throw ones generally have higher input lag than the traditional overthrow/short throw counterparts.

I personally own the BenQ W2700 recently but haven't really fully put it through the paces yet (ie. gaming) as i mainly use it to watch movies, will definitely try out some casual gaming sometime.

Decide to try it out. Bought a 2nd hand Viewsonic PX747-4K and projector screen. Total damage is $1040 (900 projector and 140 screen). Trying out a motorised screen so I could retract it when not in use.

Also bought 10m monoprice active hdmi cable from amazon prime. Lastly a cheap ceiling mount.

Installing myself....lol....

Ok, tried playing doom on the projector. I would say its still pretty decent. I am just a casual player who has been used to 60hz all my life, so still ok.

Also tried world of tanks... wow..the bigger screen is really breathtaking.

PX747-4k input lag is about 40ms, which is actually pretty decent and definitely playable if you are a casual gamer. I got my W2700 about ~2.2k after stacking all the coupons during 12.12, the selling point for this model is that it produces really stunning colors. Will share the gaming experience if I get around it.
