$30+, thinking of getting one to minimise cables (currently using separate external SSD enclosure + 3.5" seagate backup plus both via usb )

But i read some chinese reviews commenting:
附带的12V电源供电不稳,硬盘升天
硬盘大头朝下,没有固定,硬盘升天
所以,这种东西被称作硬盘升天座
Unstable 12v current, HDDs uplorry
Mechanical drive placed vertically without being fully secured, HDD uplorry
Thus the name as "Up Sky station"
:s13:

So any expert experiences / review of such? :o

technicians that work with data all use such disk docking stations...convenient for data copying and disk wipes... you don't have to mount them in a PC just to check the files inside or do disk operations...

Is the transfer speed fast?
Speed not bad, especially if it uses USB 3.2 and USB c port.

But my advice is to make sure its well ventilated and dun put too much load at a time (for example dun try to transfer 1tb of jap documentaries one shot). This is because the drive can overheat and get damaged. Once damage liao can say bye bye to the drive.

If it doesnt lock the hard disk in position, jsut depend on gravity, hard disk may vibrate and intermittently lose contact, no power then disk may be corrupted and all data disappeared.

I had a 4 disks enclosure frorm same vendor, used once and all 4 disks data corrupted and drive un-readable.

I got use a two disk enclosure before and encountered the same issue, both disk failure. That's why now I only use single disk dock. I suspect if more than 1 disk at a time, got some weird resonance because both disks are vibrating. Since then I never see issue liao.

If I want to clone disks, I use two separate single disk docks.

well think i better avoid too then, the feature of less cables and cleaner/neater desk is so attractive though
