Anyone using Android Auto?

I noticed a few new car models out in our market which offer Apple Carplay, but not Android Auto. e.g. new Honda Civic, Kia K3, Opel Astra

These models however, have both Apple Carplay and Android Auto advertised overseas.

I know the Android Auto app is not available locally, but i tried sideloading the APK into my phone and failed. What could be the problem?

Do these car models actually already have Android Auto support, just that it doesn't work with our phones?

google android auto for the latest apk.
Have to ensure that your hp is Android 5.0+ phones (Lollipop or Marshmallow).
Also your Head unit should have AA compatible.
Once connect via USB, AA will start running.

If you are using Android Marshmallow OS on your phone, make sure that all permissions for Google Play Services and Android Auto (AA) apps are allowed. Turn on bluetooth and location before starting AA and then connect the car data cable to your phone. After a few Agree screens on your phone,AA should appear on your car system. Touch that and you are in AA mode.

How do I install Android Auto on Note 5 ?

Using AA on my K3 using LGG3. Map very smooth, no lg or hang. Only thing is phone is warm when using.

Search for Android auto apk and install. Dun get from playstore, Google search and install.

Hi able to advise which app to download for note 5? Tried cardash but unable. Not sure which app to select from AA

I downloaded APK into phone SD and tries to install but says install fail.
Is it because SIngapore not approved to install APK .. because Android Auto website says Singapore is not a country available for download, which means even if you install APK, it wil not be successfully installed too ?
How do you work around this ?

just download direct to your phone. Before installing, go to your security setup and enable "unknown sources". if you don't enable this, installation cannot proceed.

Sidetrack a bit. Where can I get a head unit at reasonable price or should I just buy from car audio shop? Looking for something with reverse cam, mic and Spotify and works well with iPhone. I have a gps but I Guess can forgo coz I usually just use phone’s gps.

Make sure you connect to the correct usb port in your car?

I do use Android Auto on my phone ( Goggle Pixel 2 xl).
Download from Apkmirror.com and install on your phone.

I find it very useful, especially on the playback of SMS and understanding voice input .

All using big font , touch friendly under shaky driving environment.
