Anyone working as IT Security Analyst (SOC) ?

Hi members,

As per title above, anyone can share their experience ?

I just completed my bachelors in cyber forensics and IT Sec from Murdoch University via Kaplan and am desperately looking for a way to get into IT Sec.

Have went for a few job applications and even though I think I did well, I guess my pay is the major stumbling block as I have over 5 years of exp in IT Infra.

A few interviews for IT Sec Analyst is coming my way and will like to see any invaluable advise from you guys.

Keep trying lo.. there is no right no wrong answer. Only your future employer will feel if you are a good fit.

In usual case, if my understanding is correct, those that meet up for interview ratio is about 1:3. For those that send by email / not meet up, 1:alot.

Most employers will lose interests in CV at less than 1 minutes. So plan your CV well. This apply to me too when i am going for job interview.

not really, unless local with CAT 1 local ah neh...

non-local ah neh also got work with good security SI. At most they dont cover gahmen.

in term of paper chasing, ah neh has good memory power compare to me. Been there, see it.

FTs are every where now, IT sec is no exceptions.

By the term Soc u can expect them to run mostly 24x7x365

Unless u r not an security analyst. But I've head of banks which run by the sun.

Depends on ur interest, starting with security analyst is the basic.
