While I agree it is a good thing they throw in the towel instead of releasing a half baked or dangerous product, you can't deny the Apple now is but a shadow of its former self. If you look at hardware, there is close to 0 innovation, other than them taking features away. Their flagship product like iPhone only gets incremental improvements, and specifically only the SOC which don't matter much considering that they are already very fast. In fact, I believe (and there are already rumors out there) where it shows that we should be expecting the same cyclops design iPhone, plus a patch the eye pirate camera on the back. Software wise, they used to tout themselves as user friendly, no manual needed to operate. Now for example simple apps like their iTunes, I am struggling to find basic options like shuffle, etc. It's hidden just to make the interface look clean.

apple's engineering capability is falling behind the koreans and chinese. they have become complacent. sad. hope they dun end up like nokia.

Falling behind? Dude check your facts. The AirPower was a totally brand new wireless tech different from what you can find in the market. If a trillion dollar company cannot manufacturer this product, don’t expect any other company to do so.

The only problem with the cancellation is that Apple announced way too early. Even then, no competitor managed to come up with anything remotely close.

Honestly, the trillion dollar is just the amount of money that you have. If cannot make it, means cannot make it. It doesn’t mean if you have trillion dollar and cannot deliver, it means other also cannot deliver since they have less. So what does it say IF other smaller company with lesser budget able to deliver?

Look at what happen to Siri. It lags behind Google, Alexa, even Cortana.

I think you don’t know how valuation works and being a trillion dollar company doesn’t mean you have trillion dollar cash. If smaller companies able to come up anything similar then kudos to them but so far none has it.

You got to understand the context from Siri. Siri did not improve much because Apple values privacy and they are working hard to make Siri better with every iteration. If you went your privacy to be exposed and your voice to be always heard then by all means use Alexa and Google Assistant.

The butterfly k/b was a total disaster that only got admitted (as in 'a small number of users' lol) after lawsuits.

How bad was the the Air Power that they had to cancel the thing entirely? Overcharging causing devices to explode?
