Test performed on M4 Max Studio 1TB.
Calculated SLC cache for internal SSD = 100GB (25 sec x 4GB/s)
Once this cache is exhausted, write speed collapses from 4GB/s to 300MB/s.

Compare with cache for 1TB NVME SSDs:
WD SN850: 300GB
Samsung 990 Pro: 114GB
Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus: 333GB
Crucial T500: 333GB
Kingston KC3000: 333GB

May this information help you to spend wisely on your Apple devices.

If you want even bigger cache on the NVME SSDs, just buy the 2TB models. The cache size is typically double that of the 1TB models in the same series.
