I see many people complaining IT industry is sunset industry and is full of mostly dead end jobs, with low salaries. Whereas the money is all in banking, business and finance.
However, the salary statistics by HR companies usually show engineering and IT as some of the top paying industries.
Any comments on what's the real truth out there? HR companies doctoring their survey data or selectively reporting their statistics in salary reports? Or happen that those who are complaining on public forums happen to be those in bad IT jobs or companies?
I'm confused why there is such a discrepancy.
