our founding fathers established good trust in our country's system being transparent and honest... the current batch however...

Read HWZ Forum Rules!

We say that now.
But ppl in the 70s/80s were not saying the same thing then.
Ppl now praised LKY but a lot couldn't tahan him when he was PM.
Who knows what will be said in 2050?

obedient as scared for life = North Korea

obedient as in they are in a higher socioeconomic status while looking at Malaysia/Indonesia and go on their knees and give thanks to God they are not them = Singapore

obedient as in they actually believe in the hearts and mind that their leaders represent the best of mankind values and dreams = US

Japanese and both Koreans are equally obedient citizens. I think is an east Asian trait.

Not obedient, just don't understand that voice is power. The parable of the single chopsticks vs a bunch of chopsticks etc...

They forgot they chose the servants, and let the servants become their rulers instead.
Because too long under colonialism.

Places like US revolted against colonialism hence they do not like to be slaves.

Historically SG gained independence because a minority jjww only, the rest is ok with being servants and slave. Hence they aren't accustomed to freedom. Which leads to us being the servants instead. :o
