Artifacts upon stress test even without overclocking?

i have a MSI gtx 760 twin frozr o/c edition card...

i ran kombustor stress test (under the KMark (PhysX) tab) with wireframe and postFX enabled... there were vertical lines across the display. are those artifacts? they are, right?

Game is ok…I play battlefield 3 at ultra setts… no problems…
But then games are not as intensive as stress tests…

There are, but do it manually. You never know if the software is working properly.

If artifacts don't appear it means heating. If artifacts still appear, it may be due to lemon gpu or driver issue.

Yes they have a fixed temp/fan speed algorithm.
Change to Furmark instead.
Kombuster has a setting which we used it to "forced" artifacting on certain
"intermittent" cards for testing so it might not always be accurate.

Monitor it and see how it goes.

Yup thinking of using furmark and unigine heaven… because I googled and found others with the same problem… yellow tiny and vertical lines after enabling the postFX option…

Nevertheless can you elaborate on the "setting which we used it to "forced" artifacting on certain
"intermittent" cards"? I don't really understand what this statement means.

Might be driver issue.

I have artifacts when running Metro Last Light on driver 320.49
No artifacts whatsoever when running Metro Last Light on driver 314.22

But I'm on GTX 680 though, that's why I said "might"

check your auto fan is "on" or else it will be only at 30+ % fan speed tru out the whole testing.

alright thanks, i tried in furmark and unigine heaven and there were no artifacts whatsoever

anyway on an unrelated note, how come unigine heaven benchmark produces lower FPS but lower temps too? i'd think lower FPS = more intensive = higher temps?
