Asbestos found in stone(diatomite) bath mats

How do you sand the mat?

Either rotary sander or sandpaper.

I had those and I used an N95 mask while sanding mine. Even if not asbestos, I wouldn't want diatomic particles getting into my lungs

i also use diatomite mat at home do i need to throw it away? its oem no brand cheapo china made one some more :eek:

Wat the fish! diatomaceous earth is such an interesting element, too bad these mats are contaminated with asbestos, otherwise they make great absorbent mats.

& why wld the mfr produce stuff w/ dangerous components?

luckily our bath mats are of those from Giant
less than $5 each? :s22:
