Hi guys,

I had been a desktop users for many years, due to the fact that it is always upgradeable.

Now I am thinking of getting a notebook.
I have been looking around and ASUS G751JT caugh my attention.

Is it a good buy at $2198?
I think there is another model that is 15" that cosy about $1898.

I need a notebook that can last me for a few years.
Can you guys give me some feedback?

Any G751JT owner out there?

Thank in advance.

Thanks you guy for the advice.
Most likely I will go for the G751.
But will need some more time to consider.

G751 is the lowest price model with GTX970. but is is 4.3kg.

Another option is MSI GT70 with GTX970, 3.9kg. Price around that region too. :)

Ya.Asus will more money value if you go for budget .Please do not go For MSI GT70 and GT70 is old model and it only single fan plus ugly design.Asus design will be more nicer.Beside, the Asus G751 is IPS panel while GT70 not.

no need to think alr if youre getting a laptop the asus g751 is the most value for money out there. cooling system wise its also better than the average laptop. the gtx 970 is currently the 2nd best gpu in the market right now whereas the gtx860 will soon be outdated when the newer gtx 965m launches. i doubt that you will wanna buy a laptop that will be outdated in a couple of months right?

also abt GT 70 as mentioned earlier not only is it an old model and design, it also only has a single fan config which makes the cooling weaker than the asus. temps on the asus g751 will for sure be more favourable than the GT70. and since youre alr considering a 4.3kg laptop means that u dont mind the weight as it will be a desktop replacement so i dont think 400grams diff from the gt70 will make a diff for u.

Hi, may I know do you face any problem with your Asus G751JT? I'm still considering between G751 and Aftershock S17 dunno which one should I go for. Hopefully can get some idea from you. :D

I got G751JY last weekend from HN.
All I can say is that this laptop rocks, you can not get wrong if you are choosing this.
If you are particular with the size and weight then choose the S17. If not, get the G751.

It got superb cooling performance and runs silently while playing games.
My GPU temp is just around 60C and I can't hardly hear the fan.
It got excellent keyboard and IPS screen (even better than my monitor),
and the refresh rate is 75hz after the driver update.

Some minor issues, due to the location of the subwoofer, the sound seems unbalanced (louder at the left side), there's a discussion in the ROG forum about this, driver update will fix this but haven't released yet. The matte finish tends to be finger and oil magnet but not that bad.

btw, I'm not suffering to wifi issues which some are reporting, I can even connect to 5ghz channel at half bar 3 walls away in which my MacBook Pro hardly can't detect.
