Hello, how do I buy a replacement for my ASUS laptop battery?

I tried calling into the ASUS service centre and they said I have to hand them my laptop and pay consultation fee, which is a BS way to suck my money when I only need the laptop battery.

My laptop is about 4 years old.

Has any edmw bought a laptop battery ala carte without paying exorbitant fees to ASUS for their "consultation service"?

Just use your model number and search in eBay or Taobao. Another place is SIM limited square uni-cell.

Is there anyway to verify that the batteries are legit and authentic? The last thing I want to do is to have my laptop burnt while I'm sleeping
