Juz came back from Hokkaido chasing Koyo. Took all buses this time besides returning airport
Shikotsu-ko

took the bus from chitose, dump bags at tourist info counter. Not much koyo on the 1st.

Returned airport and went noboribetsu by bus

Took off by highway bus to Sapporo next day.

Went Tenguyama via combo bus / gondola and 1 day pass

Niseko via chuo 1 day tour, strongly recommended for shinshen marsh alone

Jozankei and hoheikyo dam burnt by typhoon, went shopping.........

I didn't see much if any autumn colors in your photos. According to websites like the walkerplus recommended by other posters here, you should be able to see them already in many areas in Hokkaido, especially around Mt Tokachi, Jozankei, Shiretokogo, etc...

1st week is too early, I have some in Niseko but most are scattered . On my way back from Niseko, I saw Jozankei in full yellow mode but typhoon next day, so no go. Was on my list.......

If you go now, it should be pretty much the start of the full bloom period for sapporo region. But theres the impact of that typhoon to consider....
