If you do not understand 90% of the plan and if you call your agent and he/she cant explain to you as well, i think it is quite clear what has happened.

If I try to start a company to sell a product that costs $45,000 but will only give you $33,000 after 25 years, I don't think anyone will buy from me.

So the agent that sold the policy to TS, must be very good salesperson..

Nah.. not nice to break ppl bowl of rice coz of this matter. The agent is a not bad person la juz that like any other agent dun say the cons just the pros then will somehow twist their words when asked abt cons. Those agent that pm me personally should oso stop as well

I have a personal friend of 20 years that I supported when first started as insurance agent.

People change after they become successful. Now that friend is no longer a friend.

Sometimes, it takes 20 years to know a person.

My Advice: just buy a hospital insurance (shield plan) and a term/life insurance (no ILP) and park your funds either in BOC smartsaver/Citi Maxigain/CIMB fastsaver.

Won't go into specifics. But if your salary is above 2.5k i recommend boc smartsaver. If not, if u have SGD15k go for Citibank maxigain, otherwise, just settle for CIMB fastsaver.

Meanwhile, read up more about financial products before committing into anything. I believe if you want good opportunities, you'll have to find it yourself. Something that someone tries to push to you is usually crap.

But you are right, it's your money, and you can spend it on any dragon Tiger investment/savings/endowment plans you want.

Anyway the hate is directed towards agents. Not you.

A lot of time the agents also have little idea how good or bad the plans are as their manager could be the one who push them the plans. How good or well educated an agent is depends very much on their agency culture.
