Your low budget is how much ?

That's the main factor on choosing your DSLR.

Hmm before committing to a DSLR, have you considered other options?

Mirrorless cameras offer manual controls too, but weigh much less. If most of your images are going online at lower resolutions, then the smaller sensor on a mirrorless won't really be much of an issue.

Also, carrying around a DSLR may tire out some, so do take into consideration its weight and the weight of the accompanying lenses.

Many advanced compact cameras offer manual controls nowadays as well. =)

No, just usually slower autofocus and lower battery life and ergonomics.

Pentax and Sony offer the best "bang for buck" in DSLR cameras now. Nikon is 3rd, Canon is the worst.

buying dslr is not only abt body only see the lenses and flash system.. good luck to those who buy cheapo budget brands systems and is u think u get dslr yr photography skill or picture quality going to go up u are too naive

for starters on a low budget, one can consider a 2nd hand Nikon D5100 or D5200. The latest is a D5300. Try not to get the LOWEST end IMO because you might outgrow their limitations. If your budget allows, a Nikon D7000/D7100 might be better because it higher end.

For Canon,600D, 650D, 700D are all decent cameras for beginners.

For m4/3 formats, Olympus has proved that smaller sensors dun mean lousier IQ. Check out the IP of their OMD-EM1 and EM5. Focusing speed has definitely improved. I am using EP3 which is supposed to be an older model, the focusing speed is pretty decent. Panasonic GX7 is pretty decent in terms of styling, handling, focusing speed etc.

Sony NEX are actually not bad, if one can live with the more limited choices of lens but good enough for general use.

BTW, EOS M is good for those who want to train their patience as it has one of the slowest auto-focusing speed EVER even in decent lightings.

Yeah, especially since those "budget brands" are better than overprices P.O.S. systems like Canon. The WORST flash system ever!!!

For the same price, he can get a very good weathersealed pentax system, or a very good Sony system that has many more features.
