If you not keen on what you are doing, will just burn out very fast one. No passion very hard to continue.
Successful people want to do the work they do, then get rich in the process. Not go into self employment to get rich first. Passion must be there else very hard to endure such life for long

our father generation, especially those without much education, they tell themselves they cannot fail! their passion is to make money, to feed the family!
some succeed some don't
nowadays u see highly educated ones opening biz to a lot of fan fare
but close shop within 3 years
