That's a lot of long video rants. But wow, did not expect Newegg to drop the ball so badly.

Good on Brett to not accept the hush money - it's not worth his integrity and they will also begrudge having to pay him that in the long run, so he would lose out either way.

Will avoid Newegg for a bit - was just about to spring for some parts during this week, but glad I saw this in time. Cannot really support the way they screw multiple 'partners' over like this.

In US they are like the walmart of electronic parts.... so they will milk people as much as they can.... but US citizens are protected by the consumer laws there... so no issues...

But if you are international buyers then you are at their mercy.... and the return & refund is subject to many fine print clauses... and prohibitives ship back costs....

Only time I bought something is the RAM back in 2019 which was damn cheap. At least $80 cheaper than local.

I’ve never bought anything from Newegg so far. There are a few instances where I almost bought something from them, but their pricing generally are worst than what I find on Amazon. Also the moment Newegg came out with that Shuffle program, I wasn’t really happy about it. Generally, you need to buy a bunch of extras just to get the item that you “won” in the shuffle. And they even went to the extend of persistently offering the exploding Gigabyte PSUs to be bundled with Gigabyte GPUs, even though there were a lot of reviews that proved that they are dangerous. May be Gigabyte enforced that, but as retailer, they have the right to not sell it.

Have not bought from Newegg for donkey years already. Always defaulted to Amazon, Shopee or Lazada. Carousell for 2nd hand or hard to find rare items that cannot be found on these platforms.

Newegg say sorry sorry liao.
Apologizing is the only thing they can do since they are caught red handed trying to sell consumers faulty devices that they are aware of. Just so that they don't incur cost on repairs when people return the product, they repacked it as checked by them and safe to buy, and sell it off. Then they happy decline the return so that they permanently get rid of the faulty item at the cost of consumers.
The practice is very shady since they made deliberate steps to sell faulty items and then reject them. Other issue I have with them is that they happily allowed/enforced the bundling of exploding Gigabyte PSUs in order for people to buy a GPU. Care for consumers = 0 if not negative.
