If ansagna or banyan tree charges USD but can convert to pay in SGD. The rest of the resort is SGD. Reason maybe most of the resorts are own by Singaporean organization. Even the boat jetty also use SGD to buy things like drinks. Bintan is very remote, I don't see any seafood stalls or pasar malam outside the resorts.
Both, I just came back on Monday. Went over to 2 different resort but to my surprise, using SGD seems better. Exchange rate is higher. Around rp9300 to SGD1 whereas I changed rp8900 to SGD1 in Singapore.
