bkk, Phuket trip tips

Hi guys, 3 of my friends and I we have booked a flight to bkk on the 28december to 6 January and we have never been to bkk so need advise and tips. we have a budget of $1000 for these 10 days and would like to celebrate the countdown party in bkk on the 31st and go to Phuket on the 1st January.
any hotels that the price are reasonable? and tips on where to go

Bangkok:
Location , budget, how many ppl per room ?
If four ppl per room can take 2bedroom suites.
Else can 2 ppl in one room.
Some hotels have connecting room.
Normally Bangkok 5 stars hotel should be 80+ above per night.

Phuket:
The above + you want stay near jungcelon mall or beach ?
Kathu Beach or Patong beach area

prefer location to be near the central/ shopping area. for room wise no preferred choice i mean cheaper options would be good. any hotels to recommend

Bangkok:
Can try Arnoma. Four stars hotel.
Opposite is Centralworld, beside is Big C, 3 min to chidlom bts, 3 min to platinum mall. But did some check the price is 936 for junior suite.

Average price is 66 - 90 per night....

Realized hotel became very expensive during this season.
Perhaps you might want to stay.

Found ambassador hotel bangkok @ 230 nett superior room for 28dec - 1 Jan (4nights) two excluding breakfast. Near to bts

If you want pratunam:
Indra Regent (Superior with breakfsat) - 295 nett (4nights)
Citin Pratunam (Superior with breakfast) - 273 nett (4nights)
