Black Spots On LG OLED TV

I recently found out my LG OLED TV B8 55" bought in 2018 Jun is having some display issue.

It has numberous black spots around the edges, like a white paper being bitten by ants. Also there is a very thin lighter shade bar around the edge too. I don't know how long these exist cause I don't usually get within 1 meter of the TV, These might happen gradually or not.

Anyone had the same issue? Not asking for solution just want to know how common is this issue and how quickly it happen to the LG OLED TV .

Is there a screen protector attached?

If you mean the protective film that was present when the TV was delivered, no. Ther are no other layer on top of the OLED.

I guess the OLED is slowly degrading, never saw this issue mentioned on the web.

Mould growing inside the panel, had the same issue with old LG led TV.

Standard lifes space is about there.
7-8 years consider good already.

Mould! really? I guess its proven "Organic".

Don't think its possible to clean, I guess? OTOH, at least the panel isn't dying, will probably continue using it. Its a family TV, switch on for the whole night.

Hi i have the panasonic oled 55FZ950s (same LG oled panel) bought in 2019 is also have the same issue. have black dots at the edges and also thin lighter shade bar ard it too.

If watch tv from afar. it dont really affect. unless it get worse.
