Book or Kindle?

Super agree. I hardly read my kindle at home, always a physical book. Only when out or travelling then kindle very useful.

Another bad thing is kindle no colour.

Then if the ebook is formatted by the screen, the whole page will be smaller than the actual book, so it is not as readable. Because of that I regretted buying the Wimpy Kid on the Kindle. If physical book, I think my kids will read it.

kindle ~ light, easy on eyes. dictionary & translator for learning new words. easy to take notes.

Kindle (not app) no question. The portability is insane, you can easily and readily get to reading ANYWHERE. On public transport, on the plane or on the can it all works.

As a long time reader, it is so liberating to make the switch. Yes physical books "feel" better but I bet you get your news digitally too and stopped reading physical newspapers.

Once you adjust to the change, you'll never want to buy a physical book again.

For those that read colored comics, the kindle is not for you.

For me, ebooks: Kindle (not the app) or Moon Reader app for my phone.

For many reasons already stated; and I also like the search function. Physical books don't have an easy method to search.

Ease of copying & pasting phrases & words to share, or to look up their meanings, in dictionaries or in the net.

I love the smell of physical books

But ever since i got my hands on the kindle keyboard (huge af kindle with a physical keyboard, no backlit etc, long time ago) i never go for physical again liao. Unless i found some i really want to keep and have some hands on.

Since then, switched to kindle paperwhite, kindle voyage, kindle oasis 2.
Great to have the inbuilt dictionary to check any words you dk.
Easy to buy books straight away on amazon also.

Sold my oasis, cause its HEAVY af.. although the big screen very shiok..

Now left with my voyage, which i feel is the best liao.
Paperwhite also very cheap and good if youre on a budget or just trying ebook readers out.

But in the end, i read on my phone kindle app like 99% of the time cause its always on my hand, and no need switch here and there, kindle left rotting at home.

This force me to buy e-books instead now.

So, now I will buy e-books for:

1. manga (like detective Conan from book 1)
2. magazines (some are not sold in Singapore)
3. books which I like but are taking up space
4. books of which are out of print, but digital books are still available.

However, I will still buy books which I really like, or order magazines which is easier to get from local bookshop.

Remarks: 1. I use tablet to read, not kindle.
2. The digital books / magazines are mostly Chinese language.

Well, I used Readmoo. But then, it's also because I bought digital manga, magazines and books from them.

Remarks: All in Traditional Chinese characters, as Readmoo belongs to Taiwan.

I would say that for traveling Kindle wins for sure as it saves space and weight, but for every day reading at home, I would say books win over Kindle, for some reason I still prefer having an actual book in my hands.

I personally prefer physical books. I have a study with 2 large bookshelves and they are all full .

I also keep ebooks that I read when travelling in my Android tablet.
