Bosch washer + dryer stacking question

I bought a Bosch washer and dryer from Harvey Norman. It was delivered today by HN and their appointed installer came later to stack and secure the dryer to the top of the dryer.

What they did was basically to screw 2 L-shaped aluminum brackets INTO the top of my washer (one on the left and one on the right). Then they mounted the dryer on top, and screwed the L-bracket to the bottom side of the dryer. It looks makeshift and cost $60.

Is this the right way to do it? I looked online and there are proper Bosch mounting trays/kits. This looks like a cheapo 2 pieces of L-shaped aluminum bars which they screwed into my washer and dryer. Just wanted to check others' experience here, thanks

mine came with a mounting kit. I didnt buy from harvey norman though. If your dryer doesnt vibrate significantly during drying, i suppose it should be ok...

Thanks. I'll send the same picture to the HN sales guy to confirm tomorrow. I'm fine if this is what HN is fine with, but not if the appointed contractor was trying to cut corners

Proper mounting kit should be white in color.

Aluminium color a bit ugly too.

This one indeed looks like makeshift. Kindly reject it if u r paying for original Bosch mounting kit.

Hi, no I didn't pay additional for a Bosch mounting kit. At the point of purchase, I was told that if I wanted to stack, I would need to pay the contractor separately ($60) which would be arranged by HN. The installer came a short while after the HN guys dropped off the delivery. I wasn't offered nor informed there was a mounting kit until I saw this and I googled

oic... HN salesman very smart... he saved his mounting kit.

cos when I bought my washer & dryer, my mounting kit came as free gift. but of course i negotiated for it.

from my knowledge, the mounting kit costs around $100+

if i am you, i will call up Bosch to find out if mounting kit is supposed to come free in the first place. I suspect HN was trying to shortchange u for this

They drilled directly into your w/m and dryer? Using existing mounting holes on the w/m & dryer or make new 1? As in does thr w/m & dryer itself comes with mounting holes at those specific locations?

If not, your warranty may be affected if need to rma due to leaks, etc

nope, drilled into the top of the washer and drilled into the bottom part of the dryer. There are no mounting holes there already.

If I understand the instructions correctly, even with the mounting kit, you'd need to drill into the top of the washer, but the dryer slides into position on top without any additional drilling
