RTS is Najib's project. Initial announcement was made by the Najib government. Agreement between Malaysia and Singapore was also signed by the Najib government.

Do Singaporeans know why there is so much support for Najib? Because MRT 1, MRT 2, LRT 3, RTS, ECRL. All these are tied to him. Even EDTP, two third of it was also linked to Najib. Basically, half of the current railway systems of the country are by the Najib government. The other half was mostly by the Mahathir government.
