A random question - does a minister with 2 portfolios get paid twice as much more than a minister with 1? Means Shanmuggam must be super highy paid ah compared to the other full minister with 1 portfolio?

Nope they get paid the same, the law minister mentioned this before. He is able to hold two portfolios also partially because the law portfolio is pretty lax in comparison

I suspect bonus isn't the same. he'll get all the bonuses of the ministries.
which could be very very very significant.

No matter how many portfolio, there is only one pay. The only thing that it might affect is the performance bonus.

Compare against elected PAP CEC, their highest policy making body.

1. Secretary-General Lee Hsien Loong

2. Chairman Khaw Boon Wan

3. Vice Chairman Yaacob Ibrahim

4. First Assistant Secretary-General Teo Chee Hean

5. Second Assistant Secretary-General Tharman Shanmugaratnam

6. Treasurer Lim Swee Say

7. Assistant treasurer K Shanmugam

8-12. Members Chan Chun Sing, Grace Fu, Gan Kim Yong, Heng Swee Keat and Tan Chuan-Jin

Ng dropped to #13 and later co-opted in. Vivian and Lawrence Wong were not insight, meaning PAP cadre does not believe in their competencies.

How these three are still in cabinet when their own cadre already said no, you can derive your own conclusions.... :s22:

All the top 13 mentioned are already in the cabinet. Does that mean the cabinet cannot have more than 13 people?:s8:

Shanmugam gets paid more than now when he was a top lawyer in private practice. Same as hen who was cancer surgeon at gleneages treating indo patients, pulling in a few hundred k per month.

After Tharman orders Temasek and GIC to contribute more for govt to spend on SG, he got removed from Ministry of Finance?

It seems like Heng Swee Heat is now Tharman's boss...

let me clear sinkies misunderstandings 1 more time...

Ministry of Finance ( satki name ) MOF merely decides how to SPEND the money...

BUT...

Monetary AUTHORITY of Sg ( not so satki name )
MAS decides how much money is being GIVEN to MOF to spend...

so sinkies, please tell me who is the REAL boss? MoF or MAS? :s22:

what do u think? :D
