A murder occurred in Yishun on Saturday morning (July 27). Two men got into a violent argument, which escalated into a fight. One of the men, in a fit of rage, allegedly grabbed a cleaver and hacked the other to death.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. in a 10th-floor unit of Block 803 along Yishun Ring Road. According to reporters from "Lianhe Zaobao," the victim was a man in his 30s, while the suspect is in his 50s. Both men are Malay, but their relationship remains unclear.

When reporters arrived at the scene after being alerted by residents, the police had already cordoned off the area, and officers from the Criminal Investigation Department were collecting evidence inside and outside the unit.

The presence of a large number of police officers also alarmed the neighborhood, with many residents watching from their windows or gathering outside the cordon.

Residents told "Lianhe Zaobao" that they had heard the two men arguing before the incident. The argument suddenly stopped, and they did not expect it to result in a murder.

The investigation is still ongoing.
