Would you mind sharing the cause of the problem in the bios?
I just bought ryzen 1700 with the same gigabyte mobo yesterday, yet to setup.
Hello, speedstream, i think it should more towards driver and compatibility issue. When I google for solution, all sort of stuffs appear, from compatibility issue, to bios or even faulty chip. Somewhere in the web, someone mention compatibility due to devices installed. So I check the device manager, I saw a group of question marks. I still didn't know what was it.
Next I realise my windows update are not working properly. There are couple of updates keep failing. As the updates come in batches, if one within the batch fails, the entire thing fails that was what I realise. BTW, I had my GTX 1080 inside already. While googling, I saw on the web mention AMD release new updates for BIOs to manufacturers due instability. At that time I was like desperate to solve the issue asap. So I could not wait for a response here. I went on to update to the new BIOs, from F1 to F2 version. Not sure what it help to improve but I realise the BSOD also stop happening although once in awhile it still does. So it was not 100% and my windows updates are still failing.
I also realise why my Nvidia Driver was not install when it supposed to be auto-installed with updates. I check my windows updates and expand the batches, found the Nvidia driver is the cause of it. I cannot proceed with other updates when the Nvidia one keep failing. Googled and found that I cannot hide or stop specific updates in Windows 10 although it could be done in Win 7. I tried manually install from Nvidia Website and Geforce experience kept reporting compatibility issue. The main cause is that the windows 10 version is not up to date for GTX 1080 and there was no way to bypass the one in windows update.
I removed the GTX 1080 and thought I could try to update first then install back. But I realise this R5 1600 CPU didn't come with integrated graphics although the motherboard have various video outputs. I try another GPU, my R9 270x. Everything start working well including those updates that were stuck with the Nvidia driver, it ended there with no other updates. But it still was not the most updated version. As of now the latest update is Win 10 creators update so I went to Microsoft site and manually download.
Changed back to my GTX 1080, and install the driver, woohoo, it works finally. Tested my games including BF1 and it is awesome! Happy bird now!
