Please... This is my 3rd time trying to create this thread. Either the thread got thrashed because of advertising, or it got locked because of sales!

Whoever tries to sell
1. Amulets
2. Travelling packages
3. Rituals/Services in local shops

There are some members whom I do not want to name here. However, you know who you are.
Please kindly do it via PM when there are ppl who ask for those above.

This thread is merely for

1. Info on amulets. (new batches or history)
2. Sharing of amulet photos.
3. Sharing of your own collections.
4. Questions of who, what, when, where, why amulets.

P.S Please do not post any amulets with sensitive materials like skin or parts of endangered species, firearms and stuff. Those are not legal in Singapore.

Common amulets FAQ

1. Q: What are amulets?
Amulets are holy items, consecrated by monks for people to wear. It was originated to provide a Buddha image for people to carry around to remind them of Buddha's teachings constantly.

2. Q: What kind of amulets are there?
There are many many forms of amulets that evolved among the years. The famous Benjapakee, Phra Khun Paen, Phra Pidta and many other more.

3. Q: What materials or forms amulet usually are?
From mainstream aka herbs, soil, wood, precious metals, to barang aka cemetery soil, corpse related materials, many amulets are created in different shapes and materials by different monks or magic practitioners. Many terms and lingoes used can be found here. Note that this list is non-exhaustive.

4. Q: How much amulets usually cost?
Cost of amulets varies from a few baht to millions of baht. Amulets of recent releases are usually typically priced by dealers and temples themselves. However, for amulets of earlier creations, the price factors in with the aging, condition, phim(design), colours and many others. Hence the price can varies at quite a huge magnitude. Thumb of rule is to visit forums, do homework, before buying anything. Some dealers may priced highly due to cost of travel and other factors, therefore ultimately it is up to you if the price is comfortable with u or not.

5 Q: Where can I buy them?
As mentioned previously, there are online dealers, physical shops all over SG (Chinatown, Bugis) and friends who can provide you with amulets. As online dealers do not usually have shopfronts, they will be able to provide a more competitive price compared to physical shops. However, the variety usually is much lesser compared to shopfronts. Also, at the shops, you can physically view the amulets, determine its authenticity, and decide whether you want to purchase. For online dealers, you will only be able to view the amulets physically when you meet up with the dealers. This is subjected to the schedule of you and him.

Last of all, welcome to all inputs, I know EDMW got a lot of hidden dragons with fantastic collections ;)

For Singapore, there are rarely or no temples who make the Palakit aka kkj amulets. However, you can take a walk at Fu Lu Shou complex, Golden Mile complex or various amulet shops in Singapore. Of course, the price is marked up.

If you happen to visit Thailand, this is pretty common but do only get from temples and not roadsides :)
