Budget Camera recommendations

Hi guys,

I've been asked by an aunt to look for the best camera 200 bucks can buy.
I'm skeptical on the budget as I believe she could increase her budget to 400- maybe 500 bucks and get one that is of quality and maybe last her at least 5 years barring unforeseen circumstances.

1. Could I get recommendations for cameras under 200 bucks and
2. Cameras under 500 bucks

i) user is extremely casual (likely to auto-shoot and upload only)
ii) preferably have video function (most cameras have that already right?)

1. <$200? Don't bother, spend the money on a smartphone with best camera on the market

2. <$500? Do you need wifi built in on the camera itself ?

Canon SX270, 280HS or S110 should do fit in your budget and do the job nicely.

If you wanna browse around, the Panasonic TZ series or the Sony HX series are suitable too.
Suggest you try out the cameras to get a feel for actual operation and image output.
