As above mentioned, maybe building for a friend. Budget as little as possible. 2nd hand ideas welcome and need everything.

Nobody? I'm actually quite skeptical of the so called "recommended system requirements". By the way, what would be the recommended specs to run COD 4 on at least high settings?

First thing it is difficult to recommend you anything if budget is not mentioned. You will need to let us know how much you are comfortable with before people can recommend anything to you.

To people $500 may seems cheap. To others $500 is a lot.

But what I can tell you is there is a bare minimum amount that you might need.

Monitor ~ $199 assuming 22inch and below
Keyboard mouse ~ $18
Os ~ $115
Chassis ~ $51

$390++ around there. Probably need speakers and other stuffs also. Other components are variable.

Would prefer if your friend can advise on the monitor size (and hence screen resolution) for gameplay and his expectation of the game image quality, then from there we can work it out... :)

Hi, haven't seen you in a while. Thanks in advance, monitor I'm thinking a 20" will do. I'm wonder if high settings for COD 4 how much will it cost for a rig. But I guess the quality can be lowered if it's too expensive.

As low as possible, so I'm guessing 600 plus minus without OS and monitor.

I'm surprised a Pentium can run COD 4. Would an A10 5800 or 6800 have better graphic processing power than a 7790?

This Pentium G2130 @ 3.2 GHz, is no slouch at all. CPU branding comparison don't really signifies as much as they do it the past, especially Intel vs AMD.

Radeon HD 8670D on the A10s at best is only on par with HD 6670 DDR3.

Oh, is there a difference for 2k14 for ps3 and ps4?

yes. the gameplay is different. things like the "my player" mode is completely redesigned and better on the PS4/Xbone compared to the PS3/360 version. You can do a simple search online for the full differences. If he doesn't need the computing power of a pc, I would suggest him getting a PS4.

Ic, I always buy high mid range ones, so not really familiar with the prowess of the lower end ones. E8400, now 2500k. Miss the good old AMD which kick Intel butt for a lower price.

Ic, so the pc version is the same as PS3/360 also?
